We try to collect as little as possible to keep the directory useful and honest. Specifically:

Usage data

Pages viewed, searches run, and how you interact with price listings. We use this to learn which procedures and providers people want and to fix what is broken.

Device and connection data

Browser type, device type, operating system, and IP address (anonymized for analytics). Standard server log data.

Email (only if you give it to us)

If you contact us, report a price, or ask to claim a listing, we collect the email address you submit so we can write back. We will not add you to a marketing list without your say-so.

• Your health information, diagnoses, or medical history.
• Your insurance details or claim data.
• Payment card numbers — we never bill you. You pay providers directly.
• Anything you communicate with a provider after you leave our site.

• Improve search, listings, and verified-price coverage based on real demand.
• Diagnose bugs and protect the site from abuse and scraping.
• Reply to messages you send us.
• Aggregate, non-identifying analytics for internal product decisions.

We do not sell personal information. We do not use your data to train AI models. We do not run third-party advertising on this site.

Hosting (Vercel)

MarketCare runs on Vercel. Vercel processes server logs (including IP and request metadata) on our behalf.

Database (Upstash)

We store internal verification queue data in Upstash Redis. No site visitor identity is written to this store.

Telephony (JustCall, Twilio)

We use JustCall and Twilio when our team calls clinics to verify prices. These services do not run on visitor sessions.

Email (Resend)

When we reply to a message you sent us, the email is delivered through Resend.

We use a minimal set of cookies needed for the site to function and for first-party analytics. We do not use third-party advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or session-replay tools.

Server logs are retained for up to 30 days. Email correspondence is retained for as long as is reasonable to support an ongoing conversation, then archived or deleted. Verified-price records and internal call notes are retained as part of our editorial archive.

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@marketcare.com and we will respond within 30 days. If you live in California, the EU, or the UK, you have additional rights under the CCPA, GDPR, or UK GDPR — we will honor those in good faith without making you jump through hoops.

MarketCare is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted information, write to us and we will delete it.

If we make material changes to how we handle data, we will update the date at the top and note the change here. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
