Usage Data
Pages visited, search queries, time on site, and how you interact with price listings. This helps us understand what people are looking for so we can improve the directory.
Device & Browser Info
Browser type, device type, operating system, screen resolution, and IP address (which we anonymize for analytics). Standard stuff collected by every website.
Email (if you sign up)
If you join our email list or claim a provider listing, we collect your email address. We use this only to send you updates about MarketCare — never spam, never third-party promotions.
What We Do NOT Collect
We do not collect your health information, insurance details, payment data, or anything you communicate with providers. MarketCare is a directory — you book directly with providers, not through us.
2. How We Use It
- Improve search results and procedure listings based on what people actually look for
- Fix bugs and optimize site performance
- Understand which care categories and cities have the most demand
- Send email updates if you opted in (you can unsubscribe anytime)
- Detect and prevent abuse or scraping of our pricing data
We never use your data to train AI models, sell to data brokers, or profile you for advertising.
3. Data Security
MarketCare is served over HTTPS. We use industry-standard security practices to protect the data we store. Access to user data is restricted to essential team members only.
No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We can't guarantee absolute security, but we take it seriously and will notify affected users promptly if a breach occurs.
4. Third-Party Services
Google Analytics 4 (GA4)
We use Google Analytics to understand site traffic and usage patterns. GA4 collects anonymized data about page views and user behavior. Google's privacy policy governs how they handle this data. You can opt out using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Vercel (Hosting)
MarketCare is hosted on Vercel. They collect server access logs including IP addresses and request metadata. See Vercel's Privacy Policy.
OpenStreetMap (Map tiles)
Our provider map loads tiles from OpenStreetMap servers. When you view the map, your IP address is included in the request to OpenStreetMap's servers.
5. Your Rights
You have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal data we hold about you. To exercise these rights, email us at hello@marketcare.com. We'll respond within 30 days.
If you're in the EU/UK/California, you have additional rights under GDPR/UK GDPR/CCPA. We're a small team and will always work with you in good faith.
